ACTING UP was developed for Rocket Beans' MiniBeansJam 8. The jam lasted 48 hours and had the theme 'You shouldn't be here'. We wanted to create something action-heavy and arcadey for the jam.
My Role:
In addition to brainstorming and game design, I was mainly responsible for the implementation, visualisation and animation of the score counter during the jam. It was important to me to make the display as punchy as possible and to create an overall arcade feel. I also worked on the enemy spawn and movement.

Result:
In ACTING UP, the player tries to attract as much attention as possible and annoy the uptight bourgeois theatre crowd without getting caught by the security guards. There are various locations throughout the level where you can score points, such as standing in front of cameras, stepping into the spotlight to on stage, or knocking over chairs. Unfortunately, there was not enough development time to make the enemy AI more solid and the level design more challenging. These are issues that could be addressed to make the experience smoother and more enjoyable in the future.
